This specimen began as opaque, white, somewhat curved dolomite crystals, reaching about 5 mm in size. On top of this was deposited a thin layer of chocolate-brown iron oxides, followed by patches of deep green malachite and scattered chalcopyrite crystals to a few millimeters in size. The final deposit was a thin layer of transparent gypsum, providing some glistening to the specimen. The dolomite/malachite/gypsum combination is common enough but the chalcopyrite association is unusual for the locality. Displays beautifully without needing a stand, and free of damage.
