Mirror-bright carrollite crystals on a bed of small quartz crystals, these on a grey matrix which in places is spongy and friable. The largest carrollite measures 1.3 cm and is well-formed, but incomplete along the edge of the specimen. DR Congo carrollite specimens are typically coated with dolomite, which has been etched away in this case. An affordable, representative example for this cobalt copper sulfide species.
