TeĆ³filo Otoni, Mucuri Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Cabinet - 11.1 x 7.5 x 7.1 cm (4.4 x 3.0 x 2.8 inches)
Specimen status: Sold

Black on white! Stark yet appealing contrast. This specimen features a submetallic, tabular and rectangular, gray columbite crystal along with several jet black, lustrous tourmaline crystals in a sugary white albite matrix. The columbite is 3.1 cm along its edge. Of the two complete tourmalines, the longest is 3.3 cm. Snuggled next to the largest tourmaline is s 3 mm wide zircon (verified by its bright yellow shortwave UV fluorescence; last photo). An interesting association specimen that has several display angle choices which do not need a stand.
