Gypsum specimens having this arrangement of individual crystals are sometimes called 'roses'. This gypsum rose features numerous translucent blades sprouting from a central point. The color ranges from nearly colorless to light tan, typical of gypsum clusters which form in clay or dirt (as this one has; as I recall, from a construction site excavation). Free of damage. Multiple display angles possible, although a stand might be needed for some. Distinct yellowish fluorescence under both longwave and shortwave UV, with easily observable phosphorescence (perhaps two seconds) when excited with shortwave UV.
