This specimen consists of a jackstraw grouping of stout, deep red-orange crocoite crystals. On average these crystals are significantly fatter and longer than found on the typical Adelaide Mine specimen, reaching in this case 5 cm in length. In addition the crystals have good luster but (as is typical for large crocoite crystals) many are not terminated. Minor brownish gibbsite present throughout. Sits well for display without needing a base. This is a lot of red lead chromate for the price!
