21015: Beryl (naturally etched) - $8 Minas Gerais, Brazil Miniature - 3.7 x 2.4 x 1.9 cm 18 grams Specimen status: Reserved Send an email with specimen number to order A very translucent to transparent
beryl crystal, showing the process of natural etching: one
face is nearly smooth and only slightly frosted, three
faces are partly but not deeply pitted, and the back is
heavily corroded (presumably this is why the specimen
because detached from matrix). When seen in person, he
specimen is nearly colorless. An interesting study in
natural corrosion, a process to which beryls are highly
susceptible.
Maybe one small chipped are on the back, but otherwise
excellent condition.
