Lustrous and sharply formed, opaque andradite garnets to about 8 mm, in a shallow concave cleft on matrix. The light brown material appears to be a pseudomorph of an unidentified mineral after another unverified mineral (hedenbergite?). Andradite pseudomorphs after quartz are known (but uncommon) from this locality, but the morphology doesn't support such a replacement in this case. Might also be primary (not pseudomorphed) hedenbergite, but then the color is unusual (or downright wrong; hedenbergite is always seen as green to black). Sits perfectly for display on its sawn base. Excellent condition.
