25438: Gypsum, Rosasite, Dolomite, and
Galena - $22 Bou Beker, Touissit-Bou Beker Mining District, Jerada Province, Oriental Region, Morocco Small cabinet - 8.2 x 8.0 x 6.6 cm 264 grams Specimen status: Available Send an email with specimen number to order A matrix mound of massive to
crystalline dolomite hosts abundant small balls of deep
green-blue rosasite (often incorrectly identified as
malachite). Covering much of the matrix surface and the
rosasite is a thin and transparent layer of icy gypsum.
Additional opaque, sugary gypsum sprouts 4.2 cm from one
corner of the display face. This sprout shows no obvious
termination (but then again gypsum growth of this sort
never does). Minor, cleaved galena is seen in the core of
the matrix. Sits perfectly for display on its naturally
flat base. Excellent condition.
