A Colorado classic! This specimen was formed when colorless, glittering quartz crystals were deposited over a cluster of pointy calcite scalenohedral ('dog tooth') calcites. The calcites later dissolved away, leaving this snow white epimorph crust. Displays beautifully. No damage; complete and pristine all around.
