A white rhyolite matrix hosts a well-exposed red beryl crystal. The red beryl isn't exactly photogenic, but it's quite large for the species, being 1.7 cm in length. Although the surface is uneven and naturally pitted (a little bit), the crystal is clearly terminated and retains a distinct hexagonal beryl shape. Sits very nicely for display on its flat base. A huge (but not the prettiest) example for the species and locality. What would these specimen cost if the red beryl perfect...?
