ex James Bowersox collection
Specimen status: Sold

An albite (variety cleavelandite) matrix hosts numerous gemmy and colorless to green tourmaline pencils. The tourmalines reach 2.1 cm in length, and the majority are terminated. A very typical Cryo-Genie Mine tourmaline specimen, and especially nice in this price range. Little lepidolite stacks add character when the specimen is explored with a hand lens. Displays quite nicely on its custom made and labeled acrylic block base. No damage. From the San Diego/Riverside Counties, California gem pegmatite collection of noted Southern California collector Jim Bowersox. According to the collection card (which accompanies the specimen) it was mined in 2001. Originally purchased for $200 in 2010.
